Warning by the Committee for Drafting the Transitional Justice Program in Iran to Those Who Order and Carry Out the Executions of Protesters: We Will Pursue These Crimes Without Leniency

In a statement addressed to those who order and carry out the executions of protesters by the Islamic Republic, the Committee for Drafting the Transitional Justice Program in Iran warned that each and every one of them will be held accountable without leniency.

To those who order and those who carry out the executions of protesters:

We are watching you and the crimes against humanity you commit every day. If our public statements have thus far been limited, it is because we have devoted our efforts to drafting the rules of the Transitional Justice Program and preparing the legal framework for your prosecution and trial.

From those who issue the orders to those who carry out the sentences, each and every one of you shall be held accountable. We will show no leniency and will employ every available legal means to prosecute you and secure the maximum penalties permitted by law. Every execution adds to your criminal liability. Do not presume that these crimes will be forgotten, that you will enjoy impunity, or that you will receive clemency.

Our silence signifies our preparation for your trial.
