Bita Shafiei Released on Four‑Billion‑Toman Bail

Bita Shafiei, a young activist, was released from prison on a hefty four‑billion‑toman bail one day after her 20th birthday, while her mother, Maryam Abbasi Niko, remains imprisoned and is under pressure to give false, coerced confessions.

Bita Shafiei is accused of posting videos on social media in which she urged the people of Iran not to lose hope in the struggle for freedom. She had also posted several videos in support of Prince Reza Pahlavi.
